Another tough night in T.O.

5 2/3 games into the regular season and I've already given up on the Leafs. Unbelievable.

Alright, I haven't totally given up on Toronto, but this season is sure looking like a bust. Already off to the worst start in franchise history, Toronto is staring a six-game losing streak in the face after falling behind the Avalanche--yes, the Avalanche--4-1 after two periods.

We all knew the team would struggle to score, but the defensive breakdowns have been absolutely ridiculous. Poor Luke Schenn looks lost out there. I've always been firmly in the "Let Schenn stay in the minors for some seasoning" camp, even when he played pretty well as a rookie last season. Not the case so far and it has to have all Leafs fans wondering if the team made a mistake by playing him too early.

Looks like another tough night for Mike Komisarek, too. Komisarek was a pleasant surprise in free agency--I don't think many people saw that signing coming--but the luster has quickly worn off. He's -2 on the night so far.

Well, at least if the Leafs bomb we'll end up with the top pick in the draft, right? Oh... right...
